🦁 Is it safe to go on safari in Tanzania?

Yes! Tanzania is one of Africa’s most stable and safari-friendly countries. With a reputable tour operator like Dream Peak Safaris and experienced local guides, your journey will be both safe and well-organized. Just follow the advice of your guide during game drives and in camp.

🧳 What should I pack for safari?

Think lightweight, breathable, and neutral-colored clothing. Include:

• Long-sleeved shirts & pants (for sun and insects)

• A warm jacket (early mornings can be chilly)

• Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen

• Binoculars and a camera

• Comfortable walking shoes

🍽️ What kind of food is served on safari?

You’ll enjoy a mix of local and international cuisine. Meals at lodges and camps are typically buffet-style or à la carte, with options for vegetarians and special dietary needs. Fresh fruits, grilled meats, curries, and baked goods are common.

💧 Is the water safe to drink?

We recommend drinking only bottled or filtered water, which is readily available at all lodges and in our safari vehicles.

📸 Can I take photos freely during the safari?

Absolutely! Wildlife photography is one of the highlights. Just remember:

• Bring extra batteries and memory cards

• A zoom lens (200mm or more) is ideal

• Drones are generally not allowed in national parks

🌿 Will I see the Big Five?

There’s a good chance! Lions, elephants, buffalo, and leopards are commonly seen in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Rhinos are rarer but can often be spotted in Ngorongoro.

💰 Is tipping expected?

🐜 What about insects and malaria?

Malaria is present in Tanzania, so we recommend taking antimalarial medication and using mosquito repellent. Lodges typically provide mosquito nets as well.

🌦️ What’s the weather like?

Tanzania has a tropical climate:

• Dry season (Jun–Oct): Cool mornings, sunny days

• Green season (Nov–May): Warm with occasional rain
  Evenings can be cool—bring a warm layer!

📱 Will I have internet or mobile service?

Most lodges offer limited Wi-Fi. Mobile service is available in towns and near park entrances, but coverage can be patchy in remote areas.
